So we joking said that this receiver looked like it had been in a knife fight as the old veneer was in really bad shape. This was a new problem for me as I have not had one of these small chassis with veneer bad enough that warranted full replacement. My 750 is in pretty good shape and the 850 and larger units have real wood cabinets. I went to Audiokarma for some advice and recommendations and with that information I found some walnut vinyl on Amazon. Although its not absolutely perfect, it does look MUCH better. It took some time and patience.
Here is the cleaned up face with newly covered end blocks and the new cover. Note that I cut out the warning sticker that was on the original veneer and glued it back on to the right side of the unit as was done by factory. I am going to paint the top grill and get it looking as good as the rest of the unit. Trevor – Sorry its taking so long, but I think it will be worth it.
